Starting at birth, our bodies can experience what are termed as "subluxations". This simply means a bone is "out of place" or misaligned. A Doctor of Chiropractic is specifically trained to carefully examine the spine to see if a vertebrae has moved out of place, and how to treat it. When the bones are not in the right place, the normal fluent movement does not occur. Initially with subluxations you may experience stiffness or soreness. This is the first warning sign that is most commonly noticed. However, this underlying problem puts abnormal pressure on the joints, muscles, ligaments, and sometimes the nerves. This problem can show itself by symptoms such as headaches, neck and back pain, arm and leg pain, tingling, or numbness, as well as muscle weakness.
